Albumin is used to restore and maintain circulating blood volume when volume deficiency is present.
Each vial of Albunorm 20% contains 200 g/L of human albumin, derived from human plasma (available in 50 mL and 100 mL bottles).
Other ingredients include sodium chloride, N-acetyl-DL-tryptophan, caprylic acid, and water for injections.
Albunorm 20% belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group: blood substitutes and plasma protein fractions.

Human albumin is a normal component of human blood. No harmful effects are known when used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, special caution should be exercised when correcting blood volume in pregnant women.

There are no known effects of human albumin on the ability to drive or operate machinery.
Special care should be taken if you are at particular risk of hypervolemia, for example in cases of:
Severe heart conditions
High blood pressure
Esophageal varices
Pulmonary edema
Bleeding disorders
Critically low red blood cell count
Anuria (absence of urine production)
Discontinue the infusion immediately if you experience:
Signs of blood volume overload (e.g., headache, breathing difficulties, jugular vein distension)
Increased blood pressure
Allergic reactions
Use caution in patients with severe traumatic brain injury.
Albunorm 20% is ready for use and should be administered intravenously (as a drip).
The dose and infusion rate depend on your individual condition. Your doctor will determine the most appropriate treatment.
Instructions for use:
Warm the solution to room or body temperature before use.
The solution should be clear; do not use if cloudy or if sediment is present.
Any unused solution must be discarded.

Excess dosage or too rapid infusion may result in headache, high blood pressure, or breathing discomfort. Infusion should be stopped immediately, and your doctor will determine whether further treatment is needed.

Do not freeze.
After opening the container, use the solution immediately.
The solution should be clear or slightly opalescent. Do not use if it is cloudy or contains a precipitate.
