Amorolfine Musmani 5% is indicated for the treatment of fungal infections of the nails.
The active substance is amorolfine hydrochloride. Amorolfine Musmani 5% contains 50 mg/ml amorolfine (equivalent to 55.74 mg amorolfine hydrochloride).
Other ingredients include: ammonium methacrylate copolymer A, triacetin, butyl acetate, and ethanol.
Amorolfine Musmani 5% is used for the treatment of fungal infections of the nails.
It contains the active ingredient amorolfine (as hydrochloride), which belongs to the group of antifungal agents. It kills many types of fungi responsible for nail infections.
Always use Amorolfine Musmani 5% exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you are unsure about anything, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Apply Amorolfine Musmani 5% to the affected fingernails or toenails once or twice weekly as directed by your doctor.
Nail Debridement:
Remove as much of the infected nail, including the nail surface, as possible using the nail file provided with the product.
Warning:Do not use the nail file used on infected nails on healthy nails to avoid spreading the infection. Take care that others do not use your nail file to prevent infection spread.
Nail Cleaning:
Use the swabs provided with the product to clean the nail surface. Repeat the first and second steps for each affected nail.
Removing Lacquer from the Bottle:
Insert the reusable applicator into the bottle containing the nail lacquer. Avoid getting lacquer on the bottle rim before application.
Applying the Lacquer:
Apply the nail lacquer evenly over the entire nail surface. Repeat the third and fourth steps for each affected nail.
Drying:
Allow the treated nail(s) to dry for approximately 3 minutes.
Cosmetic nail polish can be applied at least 10 minutes later.
Cleaning the Applicator:
The applicators provided are for multiple uses, but must be thoroughly cleaned after each use with the same swab used for nail cleaning. Avoid contact between the swab and freshly treated nails.
Close the bottle tightly after use. Dispose of swabs carefully, as they are flammable.
Before reapplying Amorolfine Musmani 5%, remove the old lacquer with a swab and, if necessary, file the nail again. Reapply the lacquer as described above.
After drying, you may wash your hands with soap and water. If using chemicals such as paint thinner or solvents, wear rubber or airtight gloves to protect the nails with lacquer.
Avoid wearing nail polish or artificial nails during treatment.
It is important to continue using Amorolfine Musmani 5% until the infection has cleared and healthy nails have grown back, which typically takes about 6 months for fingernails and 9-12 months for toenails. Your doctor will likely check the progress every 3 months.
Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool place (up to 30°C).
The bottle must be tightly closed during storage. After opening, the product can be stored for a maximum of 6 months.
