Azinfexin 500 mg is used for the treatment of infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to azithromycin.
Each film-coated tablet contains:
Active substance: Azithromycin 250 mg or 500 mg (as azithromycin dihydrate 269.88 mg or 539.75 mg, respectively)
Excipients: Calcium dihydrophosphate (anhydrous), sodium carboxymethyl cellulose 150, microcrystalline cellulose (PH 102), sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate; Opadry OY-D-7233 White.
Azinfexin is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to azithromycin. In the following conditions:
Lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia)
Skin and soft tissue infections
Otitis media (middle ear infection)
Upper respiratory tract infections (sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis)
It is effective for eradication ofStreptococcus pyogenesstrains sensitive to azithromycin from the nose and throat, although due to possible resistant strains, sensitivity testing is recommended. For treatment ofStreptococcus pyogenespharyngitis and prophylaxis of acute rheumatic fever, penicillin is preferred.
Azinfexin is also indicated for the treatment of non-gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis caused byChlamydia trachomatis, as well as genital infections caused byNeisseria gonorrhoeae.
Azinfexin film-coated tablets should be taken either 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
Adults (including elderly):
For sexually transmitted infections caused byChlamydia trachomatisor sensitive strains ofNeisseria gonorrhoeae: 1 g as a single dose.
For other infectious diseases: 500 mg once daily for 3 days (total dose 1.5 g).
Alternatively, the same total dose (1.5 g) can be taken over 5 days: 500 mg on the first day, then 250 mg once daily from the second to the fifth day.
Children:
For children weighing less than 45 kg, the medication is recommended as a suspension.
For children weighing more than 45 kg, the adult dosing regimen is recommended.
Store at room temperature not exceeding 25°C in the original packaging, out of reach of children.
