Azimak 500 mg is used for Lyme disease, scarlet fever, respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and ear, nose, and throat infections.
Each capsule contains 500 mg of the active substance – azithromycin.
Excipients: gelatinized starch, hydroxypropyl cellulose, magnesium stearate.
Infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug, including:
Respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, bacterial and atypical pneumonia)
ENT infections (angina, sinusitis, tonsillitis, otitis media)
Scarlet fever
Skin and soft tissue infections (erysipelas, impetigo, secondarily infected dermatoses)
Urogenital tract infections (uncomplicated urethritis and/or cervicitis)
Lyme disease (borreliosis)
Gastric and duodenal diseases associated withHelicobacter pylori
The drug does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.
Should be used during pregnancy and lactation only if absolutely necessary.
Azimak should be taken once daily, either 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
Adults:
For respiratory, skin, and soft tissue infections:
500 mg once on day 1, followed by 250 mg once daily on days 2 through 5 or 500 mg once daily for 3 days (total course: 1.5 g)
For acute urogenital infections:
1 g as a single dose
For early-stage Lyme disease (erythema migrans):
1 g on day 1, followed by 500 mg daily on days 2–5 (total course: 3 g)
Children (weighing over 10 kg):
Day 1: 10 mg/kg
Days 2–5: 5 mg/kg daily
Alternatively: 10 mg/kg once daily for 3 days (total course: 30 mg/kg body weight)
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, epigastric pain, flatulence, transient elevation of liver enzymes, rash.
Shelf life: 3 years
Store at 10–25°C, in a place out of reach of children.
