Amoxi Denk is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic bronchial infections caused by pathogens sensitive to amoxicillin.
Active ingredient: One tablet contains 574 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate, equivalent to 500 mg of amoxicillin.
Excipients: Macrogol 6000, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, rapidly soluble silicon dioxide.
Used for the treatment of acute and chronic bronchial infections caused by pathogens sensitive to amoxicillin.
Indications include infections of the following types:
Ear, nose, and throat (otitis media, sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis);
Upper and lower respiratory tract (including whooping cough);
Kidney and lower urinary tract infections;
Reproductive organs (including gonorrhea);
Biliary tract infections;
Gastrointestinal tract infections (including triple therapy for Helicobacter pylori infection);
Skin and soft tissue infections;
Endocarditis prophylaxis (prevention of inflammation of the endocardium and heart valves);
Typhoid fever (including treatment of chronic carriers when fluoroquinolones cannot be used);
Osteitis, osteomyelitis;
Listeriosis (infectious disease).
Pregnancy:
Amoxicillin crosses the placenta. For safety reasons, Amoxi Denk 500 should only be taken during pregnancy after the doctor assesses the expected benefits and risks. Studies in humans have not shown cases of fetal or embryonic damage. In one individual case study of women with premature amniorrhexis, data suggested that prophylactic use of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid increased the risk of certain bowel inflammations (necrotizing enterocolitis) in newborns. Animal studies have not shown signs of embryonic damage.
Lactation:
Amoxicillin passes into breast milk. Infants consuming this milk may develop diarrhea and fungal infections of the mucous membranes, indicating that breastfeeding might need to be discontinued. Increased sensitivity is also possible. However, Amoxi Denk 500 can be used during lactation after weighing the benefits and risks by the treating physician. Consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is necessary.
Amoxi Denk 500 should be taken as prescribed by a physician. In case of any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
The tablet should be swallowed. It is recommended to take Amoxi Denk 500 with food to improve tolerance, with no effect on efficacy.
Dosage depends on age, weight, kidney function, severity and location of infection, and suspected or confirmed pathogens.
If no other instructions are given, usual dosing is as follows:
The total daily dose should be divided as evenly as possible. If divided into three doses, intervals should be 8 hours; if divided into two doses, intervals should be 12 hours.
Children under 40 kg (up to 12 years): Usually, daily dose is divided into three doses at 8-hour intervals.
If the patient feels the effect is too strong or weak, consult a doctor.
In adults, adolescents, and children over 40 kg (older than 12 years), the daily dose ranges from 1500 to 3000 mg, divided into 3-4 doses. Alternatively, total daily dose can be divided into 2 doses (12-hour intervals), possibly allowing higher doses for therapeutic effect. For severe infections, the daily dose may increase to 4000-6000 mg.
Children under 40 kg (up to 12 years): 50-100 mg amoxicillin per kg body weight divided into 3-4 doses, with a maximum daily dose of 2000 mg.
For children under 6 years, a more convenient pharmaceutical form than tablets is recommended. Weight is usually the main factor in dosing, though individual cases may vary.
Store at temperatures not exceeding 25°C in a place protected from light.
Expiration date is indicated on the blister and outer packaging.
