Amikani injection solution is used for serious infections caused by bacteria sensitive to amikacin.
Each milliliter of the solution contains 250 mg of amikacin as the active ingredient.
Excipients: sodium citrate, sodium metabisulfite, and water for injection.

The medication is usually administered intramuscularly. It can also be given intravenously as an injection or infusion. Amikacin can be used during surgical interventions in the abdominal cavity, for draining abscesses, and cavities in the lungs and brain. The dose may vary depending on age, concurrent infections, kidney function, hearing acuity, use of other medications, and is determined by the attending physician. Typically, it is prescribed 2–3 times daily for 10 days.
Adults and children over 12 years: 15 mg/kg of body weight once daily, or divided into two equal doses of 7.5 mg/kg every 12 hours. The total daily dose should not exceed 1.5 g.
Children under 12 years: 15–20 mg/kg of body weight once daily or divided into two equal doses of 7.5 mg/kg every 12 hours.
Newborns: Initial dose of 10 mg/kg of body weight, followed by 7.5 mg/kg every 12 hours.
Premature newborns: 7.5 mg/kg every 12 hours.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The medication will only be prescribed if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk to the baby.
Do not drive or operate machinery while using this medication if any side effects occur that may impair your ability to do so.
Store Amikani out of reach of children at temperatures not exceeding 25°C. Do not store unused portions of opened vials for further use. Prepared injectable or infusion solutions should be used immediately.
