Ambroxol 30 mg Tablets

Composition:

Each tablet contains 30 mg of Ambroxol hydrochloride.
Excipients: lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, magnesium stearate, anhydrous colloidal silica, povidone 30, talc.

Indications:

Ambroxol tablets are used for respiratory diseases where mucus is thick and difficult to expectorate, such as:

• Acute and chronic bronchitis

• Pneumonia

• Bronchial asthma

• Bronchiectasis

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to ambroxol or any excipients in the formulation

• Peptic ulcer disease (stomach or duodenal ulcer)

• Epileptic syndrome

• Children under 2 years of age (alternative pediatric formulations like syrup are available)

Use during pregnancy and lactation:

Although there is no conclusive evidence of harm to the fetus or breastfed infant, ambroxol should be used during pregnancy (especially in the first trimester) and lactation only if the potential benefit justifies the possible risk.

Dosage and Administration:

Ambroxol tablets should be taken orally after meals with a sufficient amount of warm liquid (e.g., water, juice, or tea).

• Adults and children over 12 years:

  • 1 tablet (30 mg) 3 times daily for the first 2–3 days (90 mg/day)

  • Then, 1 tablet twice daily (60 mg/day)

• Children aged 6–12 years:

  • Half a tablet (15 mg) 2–3 times daily during the first two days (30–45 mg/day)

  • Then, 1 tablet (30 mg) divided into two doses per day

Note: Treatment duration depends on the clinical course of the disease.
Do not use for more than 4–5 days without consulting a doctor.

Side Effects:

Rare side effects may include:

• Fatigue, headache

• Dryness of mouth and airways

• Salivation, runny nose

• Stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation

• Painful urination (dysuria), skin rash (exanthema)
