Alceba tablets are used in the treatment of patients with moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease.
The active substance is memantine hydrochloride. Each film-coated tablet contains 10 mg of memantine hydrochloride (equivalent to 8.31 mg of memantine).
Other ingredients – Core: croscarmellose sodium, microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal anhydrous silica, talc, magnesium stearate.
Coating: polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol polymer (Chollizoat Iğ), polydextrose, heavy kaolin, macrogol 400, titanium dioxide (E 171).

Dosage for adults and elderly patients:
The recommended dose of Alceba is 20 mg once daily.
To reduce the risk of side effects, the dose should be gradually increased according to the following schedule:
Week 1 – 0.5 × 10 mg tablet per day
Week 2 – 1 × 10 mg tablet per day
Week 3 – 1.5 × 10 mg tablets per day
Week 4 and onwards – 2 × 10 mg tablets once daily
The usual starting dose is half a tablet once daily (5 mg) during the first week.
This is increased to one tablet (10 mg) once daily in the second week.
In the third week, 1.5 tablets (15 mg) once daily are taken.
From the fourth week onward, the dose is 2 tablets (20 mg) once daily.
Dosage in patients with renal impairment:
If you have kidney problems, your doctor will determine the appropriate dose for you. In such cases, kidney function should be monitored regularly by your physician.
Administration:
Alceba should be taken orally once daily, preferably at the same time each day.
Swallow the tablet with a small amount of water.
It can be taken with or without food.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medication.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
Memantine is not recommended during pregnancy.
Women should avoid breastfeeding while taking Alceba.
Your doctor will advise you whether it is safe to drive or operate machinery based on your condition.
Alceba may affect your reaction time, so driving or operating machinery is not recommended during treatment.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Do not use Alceba after the expiration date stated on the package after “EXP.”
The expiration date refers to the last day of that month.
