Acatinol is indicated for degenerative dementia, impairment of memory, concentration, and learning ability, and traumatic brain injury.
Each tablet contains:
Memantine hydrochloride – 10 mg
Excipients:
Lactose – 174.75 mg,
Microcrystalline cellulose – 52.1 mg,
Colloidal silicon dioxide – 1.25 mg,
Talc – 11.15 mg,
Magnesium stearate – 0.75 mg.
Degenerative dementia (Alzheimer’s type)
Vascular dementia
Mixed-type dementia of any severity
Impairment of memory, concentration, and learning ability
Cerebral and spinal spastic syndrome resulting from head trauma, multiple sclerosis, or stroke
The dosage should be determined individually. It is recommended to start treatment with the minimum effective dose.
Dementia in adults:
Week 1: 5 mg/day
Week 2: 10 mg/day
Week 3: 15–20 mg/day
If necessary, the dose can be increased by 10 mg per week until reaching a maximum daily dose of 30 mg.
Spastic syndrome due to CNS pathology:
Week 1: 10 mg/day
Week 2: 10 mg/day
Week 3: 20–30 mg/day
If necessary, the dose may be increased weekly by 10 mg until a maximum daily dose of 60 mg is reached.
The average maintenance dose is 10–20 mg/day.
The daily dose should be divided into several doses throughout the day.
The medication should be taken with food, with the last dose taken before dinner.
In patients with impaired renal function, the dose should be adjusted individually based on clinical response, with regular monitoring of renal function during treatment.
Children (over 1 year old):
500 mcg/kg/day
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
