Alphoscet injection solution is used in cases of degenerative and involution-related psycho-organic syndromes of the brain or as a result of secondary effects of cerebrovascular insufficiency.
Each 1 ml of injection solution contains 250 mg of choline alfoscerate.
Excipients: Water for injection.
Degenerative and involution-related psycho-organic syndromes of the brain or secondary effects of cerebrovascular insufficiency, i.e., primary or secondary cognitive disorders in elderly patients characterized by memory impairment, confusion, disorientation, reduced motivation and initiative, and decreased concentration.
Behavioral and emotional changes: mood instability, irritability, indifference to surroundings.Pseudomelancholia in the elderly.
Adults and elderly patients:Recommended dose: 1000 mg (one ampoule) per day, administered intramuscularly or intravenously (slowly).
The clinical effectiveness of treatment with choline alfoscerate should be regularly assessed.
Therapy may be continued until the desired therapeutic effect is achieved.
Treatment should be initiated and monitored by a physician experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of cognitive dysfunction due to various causes, including dementia and stroke. Diagnosis should be based on current guidelines.
Renal and hepatic impairment:
The safety and efficacy of choline alfoscerate in patients with renal or hepatic impairment have not been established.
Pediatric population:
The safety and efficacy of choline alfoscerate in patients under 18 years of age have not been established.
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Pregnancy:
There are insufficient data on the use of choline alfoscerate in pregnant women.
Animal studies do not indicate direct or indirect harmful effects with respect to reproductive toxicity.
Lactation:
There are no adequate data on the excretion of choline alfoscerate or its metabolites into animal milk.
Alphoscet is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
