Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Etoricoxib is a selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2).
Action: In therapeutic concentrations, it blocks the production of prostaglandins. It is characterized by anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic actions.
Special Features: Due to selective inhibition, inflammatory symptoms are reduced without affecting platelets or the gastrointestinal tract mucosa.
Dosage: When used in daily doses up to 150 mg, it does not affect COX-1. The preparation does not affect the production of prostaglandins in the gastric mucosa or bleeding time. In conducted studies, no reduction in arachidonic acid levels or collagen-induced platelet aggregation was noted.
