It is used in cases of conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and purulent corneal ulcers.

About Product

Albucid (Sulfacyl) Eye Drops 30% – 10 mL Bottle
Composition:

Each mL contains 300 mg of sodium sulfacetamide.


Indications:

Used for the treatment of infectious eye diseases such as:

  • Conjunctivitis

  • Blepharitis

  • Purulent corneal ulcers

  • Other eye infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to sulfonamides

  • As part of complex therapy for trachoma


Dosage and Administration:

Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 2–3 hours initially.
Course of treatment: 7–10 days.
In trachoma: instill 2 drops every 2 hours.


Contraindications:

  • Hypersensitivity or toxic-allergic reactions to sulfonamides.


Use During Pregnancy and Lactation:

Use only if clearly needed and as directed by a physician.


Side Effects:

  • Local irritation

  • Burning sensation

  • Non-specific conjunctivitis

  • Conjunctival hyperemia


Overdose:

If signs of overdose appear, reduce dosage or increase intervals between instillations. Discontinue use if necessary.


Warnings:

  • Prolonged use may lead to an increase in resistant microorganisms, including fungi.

  • Possible cross-sensitivity in patients with hypersensitivity to furosemide, thiazide diuretics, sulfonylureas, or carbonic anhydrase inhibitors.


Storage:

Store at 8–25°C.
