Ozempic prefilled pen helps regulate blood sugar levels, supports weight loss, and improves metabolism, offering easy and convenient use.
Country: Latvia
Manufacturer: Novo Nordisk
Ozempic is an innovative medication designed to control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It also supports weight reduction and improves metabolism.
Form: Pre-filled pen containing 4 doses
Active Ingredient: Semaglutide
Class/Mechanism: GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) receptor agonist
Ozempic enhances the incretin effect: it reduces glucose production in the liver, slows gastric emptying, increases insulin secretion during high blood sugar levels, and decreases glucagon secretion. The result is improved glycemic control and, in many patients, a secondary benefit of weight loss.
Although Ozempic has become widely known, its medical use is strictly regulated by clinical guidelines. It is sometimes perceived as a “weight loss injection,” but medically it is indicated for the following conditions:
To improve blood glucose control in adults with type 2 diabetes, together with diet and exercise.
To reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke) in adults with type 2 diabetes and established cardiovascular disease.
To reduce the risk of kidney function decline, end-stage kidney disease, and cardiovascular death in adults with type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease.
Type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis
Children and adolescents under 18 years of age (safety not established)
Ozempic is a prescription-only medication. A doctor must determine the appropriate dose — 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, or 1 mg — based on your medical condition and treatment goals.
Start: 0.25 mg once weekly for 4 weeks
Then: increase to 0.5 mg once weekly
If needed, your doctor may increase to 1 mg or 2 mg once weekly
Do not change your dose or injection frequency on your own.
Administer Ozempic subcutaneously (under the skin) in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. You can inject it at any time of the day, with or without food.
Always use a new needle for each injection and rotate injection sites to prevent skin irritation.
If less than 5 days have passed since a missed dose, take it as soon as possible. If more than 5 days have passed, skip the missed dose and continue your regular schedule.
Never inject a double dose. Consult your doctor for guidance if unsure.
