Active ingredient: Gliclazide 60 mg
Excipients: Lactose, colloidal silicon dioxide, hypromellose, stearic acid
Antidiabetic agents, sulfonylurea group
Treatment of type II diabetes mellitus in adults, in combination with a specific diet, physical exercise, and weight reduction
Recommended starting dose: 30 mg per day (including elderly patients)
Maximum daily dose: 120 mg
Administration: once daily with breakfast
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water
Tablet may be divided into two equal parts; do not crush or chew
Blood glucose levels should be monitored as directed by the prescribing physician
Allergy to gliclazide, any other ingredient of the preparation, other sulfonylureas, or sulfonamides
Type I diabetes mellitus
Diabetic ketoacidosis, diabetic coma, or precoma
Severe infection, trauma, or planned surgery
Severe liver impairment
Severe renal impairment
Concomitant treatment with miconazole
Pregnancy and lactation

H2 receptor antagonists
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors, chlorpromazine, probenecid
Salbutamol, terbutaline, ritodrine
Barbiturates
Oral contraceptives, danazol, alcohol
Patients should inform their physician if they have recently taken any of the above medications or any other drugs, including over-the-counter products
In case of overdose, contact a physician, the nearest toxicology center, or the emergency department of a local hospital immediately
APO-Gliclazide MR is available as 60 mg modified-release tablets
