Properties: Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) is a natural dietary supplement that is synthesized in the human body, specifically in the mitochondria, and serves as a cofactor for enzymes, two of which are involved in the Krebs cycle and ensure energy supply to tissues.

Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) is a powerful antioxidant. It acts freely in both hydrophilic and hydrophobic environments and binds free radicals that may damage various organs and organ systems.

Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) improves metabolism, activates the antioxidant system, reduces blood glucose levels and increases tissue sensitivity to insulin, strengthens the body’s protective functions and supplies it with energy (increases ATP levels in tissues), improves nerve impulse transmission and enhances cognitive abilities, reduces oxidative stress. It promotes serotonin production and reduces depressive symptoms.

The cause of alpha lipoic acid (ALA) deficiency is a deficiency of lipoic acid synthetase, which is caused by a genetic mutation or random cell division. Mutations are caused by viruses, ultraviolet radiation, other environmental factors, or their combination.

Deficiency may be manifested by the following symptoms:
•Early lactic acidosis;
• Convulsions;
• Hypotonia;
• Delay in development and growth;

Method of administration: Alapik is taken by adolescents and adults from 11 years of age, 1 capsule 3 times a day.
