It is used for the treatment of hypertension in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Losartan or Hydrochlorothiazide alone.

Losartan Potassium USP – 100 mg
Hydrochlorothiazide USP – 25 mg

Losartan Potassium / Hydrochlorothiazide is used for the treatment of essential hypertension in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Losartan or Hydrochlorothiazide alone.
Hypertension:
Losartan and Hydrochlorothiazide is not indicated for initial therapy. It is recommended for the treatment of patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Losartan Potassium or Hydrochlorothiazide monotherapy.
It is advisable to titrate the dosage of the individual components (Losartan and Hydrochlorothiazide). Based on clinical judgment, switching directly from monotherapy to a fixed-dose combination may be considered in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled.
The usual maintenance dose is one tablet of Losartan Potassium/Hydrochlorothiazide 50 mg/12.5 mg once daily. For patients who do not respond adequately to Losartan Potassium/Hydrochlorothiazide 50 mg/12.5 mg, the dose may be increased to a maximum of two tablets of 50 mg/12.5 mg once daily or one tablet of Losartan Potassium/Hydrochlorothiazide 100 mg/25 mg once daily. The antihypertensive effect is usually achieved within three to four weeks of starting therapy.
Losartan Potassium/Hydrochlorothiazide can be administered with other antihypertensive agents.
The tablets should be swallowed with a glass of water.
The medication can be taken with or without food.
Hypersensitivity to Losartan, sulfonamide derivatives (such as Hydrochlorothiazide), or any of the listed excipients
Refractory hypokalemia or hypercalcemia
Severe hepatic impairment; cholestasis and obstructive biliary disorders
Refractory hyponatremia
Symptomatic hyperuricemia/gout
Second and third trimesters of pregnancy
Severe renal impairment (e.g., creatinine clearance <30 mL/min)
Anuria
Concurrent use of Losartan Potassium/Hydrochlorothiazide with aliskiren-containing products is contraindicated in patients with diabetes or renal impairment (GFR <60 mL/min/1.73 m²)
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
