It is used in cases of iron-deficiency anemia, during pregnancy, and in periods of increased iron demand.
Triofer
Iron bisglycinate – 10 mg
Iron sulfate – 10 mg
Iron pyrophosphate – 10 mg
Vitamin C – 70 mg
Triofer is specially formulated to meet iron deficiency or increased iron demand. It features an innovative 3-layer iron formula combined with revolutionary controlled-release technology, ensuring targeted, time- and location-specific release of active iron:
Iron bisglycinate – an amino acid chelated form of iron, fast-release layer: released within 5 minutes at the start of the duodenum. Highly gastro-resistant with rapid absorption.
Iron sulfate – high elemental iron content, normal-release layer: released within 45 minutes during transit in the duodenum, minimizing gastrointestinal side effects.
Iron pyrophosphate – microencapsulated and pH-independent, slow-release layer: released after 8 hours during transit through the small intestine, offering high bioavailability.
This triple-iron formulation maximizes absorption while minimizing gastrointestinal discomfort, metallic taste, and other typical side effects of iron supplements – a particularly important benefit during pregnancy.
Iron is vital for normal metabolism, red blood cell and hemoglobin production, oxygen transport, and cellular redox reactions.
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) enhances iron absorption and protects cells from oxidative stress. It is also involved in collagen, L-carnitine, and neurotransmitter synthesis, as well as protein and folate metabolism.
Triofer is effective in treating and preventing iron deficiency during conditions of increased need, such as:
Iron-deficiency anemia
Prevention and treatment of iron-deficiency anemia during pregnancy
Periods of increased iron demand (e.g. breastfeeding, heavy menstrual bleeding)
For prevention: 1 tablet per day
For pregnant women: starting from the 12th week of pregnancy, 1 tablet daily is recommended for prevention of iron-deficiency anemia
No special storage conditions required. Store out of reach of children.
