Folic Acid – 400 mcg
Microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable cellulose, citric acid, vegetable magnesium stearate, vegetable glycerin, titanium dioxide (colorant), vegetable stearin.
Folic acid is a water-soluble B-vitamin (B9, also known as folacin or folate). Its deficiency disrupts DNA synthesis at the cellular level, affecting chromosome replication and cell division. In the body, folic acid is metabolized to tetrahydrofolic acid, a coenzyme essential for the proper maturation of megaloblasts and formation of normoblasts. Folic acid stimulates erythropoiesis and participates in the synthesis of amino acids (methionine and glycine), nucleic acids, purines, pyrimidines, as well as in the metabolism of choline and histidine.
During pregnancy, folic acid protects the fetus from teratogenic damage, supports normal placental development and function.
