Azithromycin Pharmozi is used to treat certain infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to it.
The active substance is azithromycin. Each film-coated tablet contains azithromycin dihydrate, equivalent to 500 mg of azithromycin.
Other excipients include: anhydrous dibasic calcium phosphate, pregelatinized corn starch, sodium starch glycolate, polyethylene glycol, titanium dioxide, and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose.
Azithromycin Pharmozi is used to treat certain infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to it, such as:
Tonsillitis/pharyngitis
Sinusitis
Bronchitis
Pneumonia
Acute otitis media
Skin and soft tissue infections (such as abscesses)
Sexually transmitted diseases caused byChlamydia trachomatisandNeisseria gonorrhoeae(non-resistant strains)
This medicine should always be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist. If the patient is unsure, they should consult their doctor or pharmacist.
For adults and children weighing more than 45 kg, the recommended dose for most indications is 500 mg once daily (one 500 mg tablet) for a duration of 3 days.
For the treatment of sexually transmitted infections caused byChlamydia trachomatisandHaemophilus ducreyi, the recommended dose is 1 g as a single dose (two 500 mg tablets).
ForNeisseria gonorrhoeae, the recommended dose is 1 g or 2 g, in combination with 250 mg or 500 mg of ceftriaxone.
Use in Children and Adolescents:
Azithromycin Pharmozi tablets are prescribed only for children weighing more than 45 kg.
For oral use.
Azithromycin Pharmozi tablets should be swallowed with water or another liquid. They can be taken with or without food.
This medicine does not require any special storage precautions.
