It is used in cases of chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia, and skin and soft tissue infections.
Infectious-inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug:
Exacerbation of chronic bronchitis
Community-acquired pneumonia
Acute sinusitis
Skin and soft tissue infections
Pregnancy
Lactation (breastfeeding)
Children and adolescents under 18 years of age
Hypersensitivity to moxifloxacin or any other components of the product
Adults: 400 mg (1 tablet) once daily.
Duration of treatment:
5 days for exacerbation of chronic bronchitis
10 days for community-acquired pneumonia
7 days for acute sinusitis and skin and soft tissue infections
Treatment with the medication may be continued for up to 14 days if needed.
Patients with renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance >30 ml/min) do not require dosage adjustment.
Tablets should be swallowed whole with a small amount of water, regardless of meals.
Moxifloxacin is generally well tolerated; most side effects (90%) are mild or moderate in severity.
Gastrointestinal system:
Nausea, vomiting, altered taste sensation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, altered liver function tests, dry mouth, flatulence, loss of appetite, stomatitis, glossitis.
Cardiovascular system:
QT interval prolongation in patients with hypokalemia, tachycardia, peripheral edema, increase or decrease in blood pressure, chest pain, changes in peripheral blood count.
Central and peripheral nervous system:
Insomnia, dizziness, irritability, drowsiness, tremor, paresthesia, confusion, depression, emotional instability.
Respiratory system:
Bronchospasm, dyspnea.
Musculoskeletal system:
Back pain, arthralgia, myalgia.
Genitourinary system:
Vaginal candidiasis, vaginitis.
Allergic reactions:
Rash, itching, urticaria.
