Solgar – Calcium '600' + Vitamin D3

Composition:

2 tablets contain:

• Calcium (from oyster shell-derived calcium carbonate) – 1200 mg

• Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) – 600 IU

• Sodium – 15 mg

Calcium
Approximately 99% of the body’s calcium is concentrated in bones and teeth. Together with vitamin D3, calcium supports skeletal system health at any age. It is responsible for bone mineralization and hormone production, contributing to the maintenance of normal calcium and phosphorus levels in bones and the bloodstream. Calcium regulates energy metabolism and neurotransmission and acts as a key component in blood coagulation. It stimulates the release of calcitonin, which facilitates the transport of calcium from the blood to damaged bone tissue. In postmenopausal women, calcium combined with D3 helps maintain mineral balance and reduces the risk of developing osteoporosis. Calcium deficiency can lead to muscle spasms, often presenting as cramps in the lower limbs. Long-term deficiency may result in rickets and osteomalacia.

Vitamin D3
Vitamin D3 facilitates the absorption and utilization of calcium in the body. Its deficiency reduces bone mineralization (osteoporosis) and increases the risk of bone fractures. D3 supports the normal function of the neuromuscular and immune systems, enhances resistance to infections and viruses, and raises serotonin levels in the body. Calcium and vitamin D3 together prevent hypersecretion of parathyroid hormone and bone resorption (calcium leaching from bones).

Microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable cellulose, vegetable glycerin, vegetable magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide.

Dosage:
